Nordic Defence Innovation Foundry will give an overview of how we engage various actors across industries, growth stages and countries to ensure a more secure future.

Joel Noutere is a Co-Founder and Chairman of the non-profit organisation called Nordic Defence Innovation Foundry or NDIF in short. NDIF’s purpose is to foster a Noridc-wide ecosystem collaboration and support innovative companies that apply their technology to defence.

NDIF was founded by three Finnish Defence Forces active reservists who also had extensive startup- and innovation background in order to bring the Silicon Valley mindset closer to military procurement and development as the defence sector is inherently difficult to approach from the outside due to information security concerns and the procurement process can take years. To ensure our security in the future we need the best technology applied to our defence and that needs also private sector innovation in order to keep up the pace.
